That time (2011) I had an idea and ripped a monitor apart and placed it ontop of my Wacom Intuos 3 and was able to draw on it as a screen tablet. It worked quite well after some configuration.
But there was considerable offset between line and pen tip and line jitter that got worse at the edges of the screen.
And unfortunately the electronics shorted and blew up when I had put them in an enclosure.
Further on I tried ripping other monitors apart to do this again. But not all monitor’s electronics allow for this experiment. And now there are affordable and less lethal options available.
