WIP The microKorg Commander is an editor and controller for the classic MicroKorg that can run from a browser. I am developing and designing it because of my love for the MicroKorg and because I want a tool to have overview over the settings without menu diving when I am programming it.
The current state of the layout and modules.
The design is flat but inspired by the form of the original microKorg. Adding visual feedback for certain functions such as the oscillators and filters. And a icon system is in development.
When in Layer mode, the microKORG uses 2 parallel synth modules named “Timbres” with the same setting options. To see how the settings of the Timbres are I gave the setting of each timbre their own color. Green timbre 1 and orange for timbre 2.
This way we get a visual indicator of how the two Timbres are contributing to the sound.
Preview of some elements in motion. Testing the Filter and Virtual Patchbay as well as the Dropdown menu and waveform representation. The music is of course made wholly with the microKorg
The microKorg has several wave shapes available for its sound engine and LFO’s, here is a iconsystem to help visualize and internalize what each setting stands for.
